    Relative Pronouns
    Combine these pairs of sentences using ' who ', ' whom ', ' whose ', ' that '.

    1. The boy was elected captain of the team. We voted for him.
    A) The boy whom we voted for was elected captain of the team.

    2. Danny is one of the most charming persons. I know him.
    A) Danny is one of the most charming persons that I know.

    3. The lady called the police. Her house was robbed.
    A) The lady whose house was robbed called the police.

    4. She didn't see the men. They passed her in the car.
    A) She didn't see the men who passed her in the car.

    5. Some of the guests couldn't come. We invited them.
    A) Some of the guests that we invited couldn't come.

    6. There is the headmaster. His school won the debate.
    A) There is the headmaster whose school won the debate.

    7. Four boys went hiking. Two of them were Boy Scouts.
    A) Four boys went hiking that two of them were Boy Scouts.

    8. Have you heard about the man ? His talent won international fame.
    A) Have you heard about the man whose talent won international fame.

    9. Do you know the player ? He scored the winning goal.
    A) Do you know the player who scored the winning goal.

    10. Let me tell you a story about two children. Their parents died while the children were young.
    A) Let me tell you a story about two children whose parents died while the children were young.

    I think ' who ' ' whom ' ' whose ' ' that ' are called relative prounouns, right ?

    Yes, they are relative pronouns.


    7. Four boys went hiking. Two of them were Boy Scouts.
    A) Four boys went hiking that two of them were Boy Scouts.
    This one is a bit weird and I could be wrong.
    How about this:
    1. Two of the four boys who went hiking were Boy Scouts.
    2. Four boys went hiking and two of whom were Boy Scouts.


    8. Have you heard about the man ? His talent won international fame.
    A) Have you heard about the man whose talent won international fame.
    9. Do you know the player ? He scored the winning goal.
    A) Do you know the player who scored the winning goal.
    Ah, weird punctuation! :D


    10. Let me tell you a story about two children. Their parents died while the children were young.
    A) Let me tell you a story about two children whose parents died while the children were young.
    while they were young.
