    2) [He is an important New York blueblood, a person of high distinction.] in this sentence, what is the meaning of distinction?

    "Hit the screen" means he appeared in a movie or film. Sometimes it also refers to television, but in that case we usually specify "the small screen."
    "Person of high distinction" means someone notable, a "blue blood," someone who is either very wealthy or comes from a well-known family, such as the Kennedys or the Rockefellers.
