    time clause

    Is this sentence correct:
    1-I won't be seeing you in a long time.

    "For a long time" is definitely correct. I was just wondering if one could use "in a long time".

    That's absurd... but listen.

    As I can imagine the situation according to this statement, I see the following picture.

    Now you see this person every day and you sure you will be seeing her/him yet for a long time. And it must pass a long time till you won't be seeing her/him.

    Got it? Don't worry - I also have a smooth comprehension of what i've said.

    I won't be seeing you in a week. (OK, but please note the context)

    Pat: See you Friday.
    Sam: This Friday?
    Pat: No. Friday next week.
    Sam: But I'm leaving for Boston tomorrow, so I won't be seeing you in a week. I'll be seeing you in two weeks. :wink:
