    Dear teachers,

I wonder if you could clear my mind on this little query.
Which one of these two expressions is correct:

    All the processes

    All processes

Examples: restarting all the processes; admiring all the things; gaining all the information

Is the article " the " needed or unnecessary?

    Thank you for your help

    It depends:

All processes = this does not specify which processes, so every single process is included.

All the processes = we are talking about a specific group of processes and mean all of this group

We use 'the' when we know which one\ones we are talking about. Without it we are talking in general.

    All students = every student
All the students in my calss = a specific group.
