Default advantage to and advantage of

I cannot understand why it was used the preposition 'to' after the advantage in this sentence:

The most obvious advantage to overseas university study is real-life use of a different language.

I would put the 'of' there. Could you please explain it to me?

That's the way it is, I mean collocation. The same happens with the noun witness, where it is normally followed by the preposition to:

Mary Jane is the only witness to the murder.

    But:

Despite the twin advantages of wealth and beauty, she did not have a happy life.

What is the difference? Do we use 'to' only with 'university study'?

I'm sure there's a slight difference between to and of, but I can't tell what it is, I'm afraid.
