    Hi

    I came across a problem that if answer, I'll be grateful to you!

    What does the following sentence mean?:

    "Someone is supposed to do something"

    You use supposed to to describe something someone else thinks we should / shouldn't do.

    It's the same with be expected to / be meant to.

    "You were supposed to post that letter yesterday."

    "Someone is supposed to do something"
    Someone = some person
    is supposed to = is expected to (perhaps out of obligation)
    do something = perform some act
