could you correct my grammar and informal style, as well? Thanks a lot for your time, in advance.
Task: This is part of a letter you have received from your English-speaking penfriend.
ĄIím so excited! Iíve just won some money in a competition.I canít decide whether to buy a motorbike or go somewhere on holiday Ė or should I save the money? What do you think I shold do?ď
Here is my answer:
Many thanks for your letter - it was really nice to hear from you again.
Itís really good news that youíve won this/some money. Congratulations! As you know, Iím always spending almost all my money just for fun, so Iím not a right person to give advice on spending money in a reasonable way. However, Iíll try.
Firstly, as I know since you told me in your last letter, you successfully have passed your driving test recently. It sounds logical to buy a motorbike or an inexpensive car. However, you will need to pay for petrol and maintance as well. Itís rather expensive, isnít it? Maybe, itís not the best idea to buy something like that.
Anyway, you should save it if you are not sure what you want exactly now. Then you can buy something later, when you have a good idea of what you want.
If I were you I would travel to your dream location. I would really recommend that to you. The flights to interesting destinations are now cheap, and the range is enormous so Iím sure youíll be able to choose what you want.
Good luck with your choice. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
All the best,
