    Go Dutch

    Peter: The dinner's on me!
    Susan: Just go Dutch then.

Can Susan say, "Fifty fifty." :D

Susan could say fifty-fifty, but that is different. Go Dutch is paying for your own food but fifty-fifty is each paying equally, 50% of the total bill.

A cheap date is better than a cheapskate.

Going Dutch does also mean no ties or obligations.

Going Dutch seems to be impossible when one is growing old.

I don't know that many persons in their forties or more who are still fancy-free (which seems to be a sort of synonym for "going Dutch", according to you).
    ;)
