    To bring someone back to solid earth means to bring someone back to reality from day-dreaming.

    Thank you for your prompt and suggestive explanation.

    Presuably the expression in question is interrelated with the expression “ let one’s thougt go wool-gathereing” or “be in the clouds” or “daydream”, but whitout any apparent connection with the expression “fall from the moon”?
