I am in the process of writing a short story, in which one of the characters has just done a solicitation for a job. I am looking for the correct way for one of the other characters to ask where he did so -- as in, the correct verb.
Is "where did you solicit?" a valid way of asking this, or should it be "solicitate"? Or is it something else entirely?
I tried looking it up in (online) dictionaries, but I am still not entirely sure.

Where did you apply?

Did you interview with ABC Company?
