    This is a like vs as question, and the examples sound perfectly fine to my North American ears, because, and as you may already know, speakers often interchange as and like. However, from a strictly structural point of view, the rule is like + (pronoun) and as + subject & verb. For example,

    Just like us, she had an argument with her husband.
    Just as we did, she had an ...
    Just as we had, she had an...
