    jam

    Hi

    Could you tell me if the noun jam is countable or uncountable? When I speak of jam , I think of the noun phrase traffic jam

    traffic jam is a countable compound noun
    you could also be referring to a particular type of food
    which can be both countable or uncountable ,depending on whether you meant different kinds of jam
    or the stuff as such

    The crash caused traffic jams in the city centre.

    The southern regions - yes, there are some wonderful places there. However, as a person from Northern Germany (also referred to as 'Nordlicht') I daresay you have missed a lot. Maybe you'll get another chance to catch up on visiting the lowlands and the sea (not forgetting the towns, of course).
