    1. John is the only one of the students in the class that never admit making a mistake, even when it is pointed out to him.
    admit => admits ?

    2. When common people like ourselves lack faith in our government leaders, it is urgent that something be done .
    ourselves => us ?

    3. I walked on as brisk as the heat would let me until I reached the road which led to the village.
    brisk => briskly ?

    4. Some people make more money than us teachers, but few gain as much satisfaction from their work.
    us => we ?

    5. Don't you agree that one's devotion to do his tasks well is to be admired ?
    to do => of doing ?

    6. There are many important detail to attend to before an honorable peace agreement is reached.
    important detail => important details ?

    7. He is one of those men whom, I am sure, always do their best, even in the most trying circumstances.
    whom => who ?

    8. I object to war not because it drains the economy, but that is seems inhuman.
    but that => but because ?

    9. He laid on the ground momentarily, trying to get enough energy to pick himselfup.
    laid => lay ?

    10. Any conclusion other the one which was reached seems totally unjustified; I so stated in my report.
    other => other than ?

    Find the error(s) in these sentences. 8)
    Note, mistake and error are two different things. :wink:

    5. Don't you agree that one's devotion to do his tasks well is to be admired ?
    to do => of doing ?
    ==> Could also be "Wouldn't you agree...?" / "to doing"

    8. I object to war not because it drains the economy, but that is seems inhuman.
    but that => but because ? (OK, but they're synonymous to some)
    ==> Could also be "inhumane"

    Thanks Cas,

    devotion to ' doing ' :). I just remember the fixed preposition for devotion is ' to ' followed by a gerund :)
