Default Can you answer these questions?

    Hi everybody,
i have a number of questions i would like you please to help me with there answers .
1- I ........ come to the conclusion that nowadays nobody cares about anything.
    a)will b)had c)have d)do

I think it's do ...am I right?...but can we use have?

2-I assumed you .......paying for the repairs until the end of last year.
    a)have been b)had been c)was been d)are being

Actually this one confuse me is it a or b ? i think it's a...?

    3-My mother let me.......late when I was a child
    a)to stay out b)stayed out c)stay out d)staying out
Is it right to choose b? because after when the verb is past
must we use the past tense in the other part of the sentence?what is the rule?

4-We won't go to the film unless they..........in the next 5 minutes.
    a) arrived b) have arrived c)don't arrive d)arrive
    mmm....arrive or arrived..? and why?

5-I'm absolutely .........of rollercoaster, I just don't get why people like them
    a)frightened b)scared c)afraid d)terrified
Now what? all of the options have the same meaning...!

6-I'm sorry.you can't come at the moment because we .......... the house decorated right now.
    a)have had b)will have c)had d)are having
This is easy...because of (at the moment and right now)in the sentence we should use present continuous..are havig ,shouldn't we?

7-They ............for 3 hours when the storm suddenly broke.
a)had been running b)have been running c)are running d)will be running
I think it is b.. not a ...what do you think ?I always confused between these two tenses

    Thank you.

Actually this one confuse me is it a or b ? i think it's a...? It's b because the (assumed) paying ended last year.

3-My mother let me stay out late when I was a child
    a)to stay out b)stayed out c)stay out d)staying out
Is it right to choose b? because after when the verb is past

4-We won't go to the film unless they arrive in the next 5 minutes.
    a) arrived b) have arrived c)don't arrive d)arrive
mmm....arrive or arrived..? and why? The have not arrived yet.

5-I'm absolutely terrified of rollercoasters, I just don't get why people like them
    a)frightened b)scared c)afraid d)terrified
Now what? all of the options have the same meaning...! The first three meanings are very similar, but "terrified" is much more extreme and is most suitable with "absolutely".

6-I'm sorry.you can't come at the moment because we are having the house decorated right now.
    a)have had b)will have c)had d)are having
This is easy...because of (at the moment and right now)in the sentence we should use present continuous..are havig ,shouldn't we? yes

7-They had been running for 3 hours when the storm suddenly broke.
a)had been running b)have been running c)are running d)will be running
I think it is b.. not a ...what do you think ?I always confused between these two tenses The sentence tells about an event in the past (...when the storm broke), so past perfect is correct.

    Good effort!
    Thank you.

    Hi wissmayes

The rule for 3 is that let (which is synonymous with allowed...to) takes a base verb, never an inflected verb, which is why c) is the correct answer here:

3-My mother let me stay out late when I was a child

    a)to stay out
    b)stayed out
c)stay out <e.g., allowed me to stay out late>
    d)staying out
