    Either Tom or Mary will bring ... player.

    Which pronoun is to be filled in? 'Their'?

    Actually, I'd modify it to circumvent the problem:

    Ex: Either Tom will bring his CD player or Mary will brings hers.
    Ex: Tom or Mary will bring a CD player.
