May I ask about the verb using with "cold"?
When "cold" is used as an illness, you use such as "catch a cold" " get a cold" and "have a cold." How about "become"? Can I use "become "like "I became (a) cold" meaning "I caught a cold"? Addition to this, I'd be happy to know other verbs I can use with "cold" meaning an illness.
My tea's gone cold.
Come and eat or your dinner will get cold!
turn/grow cold (=become cold or colder, especially suddenly)
The nights grew colder.
be/feel/look/get cold if you are cold, your body is at a low temperature: Could you turn up the heater, I'm cold.
I feel so cold!
My feet are as cold as ice (=very cold)
have got a cold/ catch a cold
I' ve got a bad cold.
Keep your feet dry so you don't catch a cold (=become ill).
Hope this helps a bit
