    Default Text Analyser

I've been putting the Text Analyser through its paces. If anyone can explain the figures for 'sentence length' and 'lexical density' I'd be grateful. (I took out the 'What's this?' links, as they didn't work outside the context of the Web page.)

PS for Administrators; if you don't know what I'm talking about, you can ignore this!

Out of interest I posted this as an Article on CMS, but there seemed to be no provision for uploading the Word original.

    Hi BobK

I believe the sentence length refers to the average number of words per sentence, but it does depend on whether you take the first and or last lines in WC's text into account. MS Word has a word-count facility under the tools menu.

Not sure about "lexical density", which i would have expected to be higher in your 2nd example.

    - I meant 'number of sentences'. I agree with the count of Churchill's (6), but not with the count of the translations (which should be 4).
