    Wink help

Hi, I have to write a grammar book for a 5 year old for my homework, I was wondering if any one knows definitions for noun, pronoun, verb, adverb and adjective that a five year old would understand? thanks.

In addition, you could try these:

Nouns are things you can touch; e.g., THINGS = a ball, a dog; PEOPLE = Max (the child's name), mommy, teacher; PLACES = use a book or pictures; e.g., a doll's house--kitchen, bedroom; streets, simple maps.

Verbs are what your body can do; e.g., run, jump, sleep, brush teeth, etc.

Adjectives are BIG and small, and tall and short, happy and sad; use opposites (pictures).

Adverbs are how you can make your body move; e.g., RUN quickly, slowly; SING softly, loudly, etc; use TPA (Total Physical Response)

Pronouns are small words; e.g., it, she, he, etc.
