    Hello amigos!

This is the best tv set on/in the market.

What´s the difference between these prepositions in this sentence?

Yes, but 'to be in the market' is different than 'in the market'.
1..."the best tv set on the market" means 'the best tv available for purchase'. (or 'the best tv for sale')

2..."the best tv in the market" is correct when 'the market' is a specific place where tvs are offered for sale. Maybe there is an outdoor or indoor market set up for a short time to sell tvs, and you are saying which tv you think is the "best tv in the market", meaning in that market.

True, but in his context "on" works better, doesn't it? If we have a general idea of the market.
I would use "in the market" in a sentence like: There is a rumour in the market that......."

However, "the best tv on the market." would certainly be more commonly said than than "the best tv in the market."

If we have a general idea of the market.
I would use "in the market" in a sentence like: There is a rumour in the market that......." That is true, but "in the market" is not the original question; "This is the best tv set in the market." is the question.
