    Is make another verb infinitive?

    Hi all,

I think that it is the second and the third sentences that contains mistakes,
    but I am not sure.
could you help me with the following sentences, please?

    1. Our teacher makes us understand that we are doing it wrong.
    2. Our teacher makes us understood that we are doing it wrong.
    3. Our teacher is so nice that she always makes us interested in English lectures.
    4. Our teacher is so nice that she always makes us interest in English lectures.

    Thanks!

    Kitty

The third sentence is correct, the rest are wrong. Sentences 1 and 2 should use 'makes' not 'make' (and 2 uses the wrong tense 'understood'. Sentence 4 is wrong because the adjective should be 'interested' not 'interest'. OK?

What about modifying the sentences a little to express the meaning you actually want?

    1. Our teacher always makes it a point to help us understand what and why we are doing something wrong.

    3. Our English teacher is so nice that she always makes it a point to gain our interest in the subject.
