    that makes sense?

    Hi everybody!

Does my sentence make sense? I’m trying to convey the idea that Russian Salad became very popular because it is easy to cook it and its ingredients are available (not expensive and exotic).

This salad is as amazingly popular now as it was in the Soviet times for it is easily-cooked and available.

    Thanks in advance

    What about?
This salad is as amazingly popular now as it was in Soviet times because it is cheap and easy to make.
    Note, salads aren't cooked.
