    Talking Om!She didn`t show up!

Hi!How's everyone! Could anyone whose first language is English please help correct the following sentences and please explain why? Thanks.

    1. I have an appointment with Mary but she didn't show up. She stood me up? or others ways to say this?

    2. I know a few ways to make a digital clock.(Can you revise it to make it sound better?)

    Sincerely

    casual: be a no show/she didn't show/didn't come around/failed to show

Is 'stand sb up' only used for dating situations?

It sounds fine to me, Eelt. In what way do you want it to sound better, more formal or what?

    Sincerely

    1. I had an appointment with Mary but she didn't show up. She stood me up. (The chance to meet with her has passed and you will leave.)

Otherwise you can say, 'I have an appointment with Mary, but she hasn't shown up yet.' (Probably you will still wait a while and hopefully meet with her.)

You know, Eelt, I really can't think of any to replace 'stand sb up', for such a situation.

Maybe some others can come up with something.

But she was a no-show. But it looks like she blew me off. (The latter is quite a bit less formal.)
