Could you please paraphrase this sentence?

Could you please paraphrase the following sentence? Thanks in advance.

Yesterday No 10 and the White House sought to quash reports of divisions over Iraq, the invasion of which five years ago has defined Mr Bush’s presidency.

    Here's some help:

    1. No 10 = Downing Street
    2. sought = seek - Definitions from Dictionary.com
    3. quash - Definitions from Dictionary.com
    4. division = separation by difference of opinion or feeling; disagreement; dissension.

Thanks. But what does "defined Mr Bush's presidency" mean?

And whose reports? Reports by media?

Re: Could you please paraphrase this sentence?

define = To determine or identify the nature or basic qualities of; explain.
So the invasion of Iraq determines the nature of Mr Bush's presidency

Reports in this context are rumours.
