    Question the meaning of "the painted lady"

    Could anyone tell me the meaning of "the painted lady" in one news article. Is it a metaphor for something?

    The phrase appears on the 4th paraguraph in the BBC article below.
    BBC NEWS | UK | Magazine | Benidorm - the new face of eco-tourism

    Your help would be highly appreciated.

    We say 'in a paragraph, Chebu. An example where 'on' could see use;

    A: Ahhh, shiiiiiiiiit, someone dropped some ketchup right on the fourth paragraph of my term paper.

    B: Don't blow a gasket, A. With word processors you can just print out a new copy of that page. You saved it to disk, didn't ya? [looks at A who's scowling]. Oooooooo shiiiit, ya didn't.
