The verb to be, for example:

    Auxilliary verb: I am walking.
    Equative verb: I am a teacher / I = a teacher
Locative verb: I am in Shanghai.
    Copular verb: I am tired.

So, if a predicative is expressed by a noun then the link-verb is called 'equative', if by another part of speech then it is 'copular'. Right?

Aside from copular there are also auxilliary and locative. Equative takes its name from this sign, =.
