Quick and quickly do, peel and rain do not. Peel is pronounced with a long 'e' sound and rain with an 'ay' sound as in 'hay', 'bay', 'say' etc.

thank you for letting me know.. I am confused on why is my son wrong on quick and quickly, when it clearly sounds with an /i/, but I am stand corrected on peel and rain, yeah you are correct, I just realised now.. thank you for your help.
