    Default at large

    Hello everyone

I'd like to ask what "at large" means in the following context:

After Ramtha introduced me to orbs, I began to see them faintly
recorded on the early digital photographs we took. This remains a
delightful experience for me—to see what I had held secret for so
long becoming manifested at large. Since then multitudes of these
orb beings have been participants and observers at every event at the
    Ramtha School.

Does "at large" mean "greatly", "to a great extent"?

    Hi, KLPNO!
    Please go to:
at large - definition of at large by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

at large : 1. Not in confinement or captivity; at liberty

I think it is used figuratively in the passage above.
So...it might be used as something like...."freely", I imagine.

I'm not a native speaker of English, so please forgive me if I'm wrong.
Please wait for native speakers to respond.
