    Default walk around

    Hi

Would it be OK to say: ....we went to do some shopping and were walking around the shops to buy some stuff.......

Can I say "walk around"? Doesn't it sound incorrect?

    thanks

You cannot use walk around because you have already established the sentence as being in the past tense (we went).

We went to do some shopping and were walking around the shops hoping to buy some stuff (when we saw John on his lunch break from work).

You can use walk around in the present tense.

When I go shopping, I walk around the shops slowly.

    I'm not a teacher.

Doesn't matter the tense. I was just curious if "walk around" was OK. Thanks for helping me.
