Default Please give me your opinion.

    Kate: Hi, Sarah! ( 1 )
Sarah: Oh, not too good, Kate.
    Kate: Why? ( 2 )
Sarah: It's Ms Taylor, our cheerleading coach. She told me to get my act together. ( 3 )
Kate: Did she really say that? That's awful! ( 4 ) She just wants all her cheerleaders to arrive on time. What's wrong with that?
Sarah: OK, OK. ( 5 ) But then she wanted to know why I haven't concentrated on the game. It wasn't my fault that I got a call on my mobile phone and missed the half-time cheer.
Kate: Oh, come on, Sarah! What do you expect? Cheerleaders can't stand around and talk all the time.
Sarah: I guess you're right. But Ms Taylor asked me in front of all the others whether I really wanted to be a cheerleader. ( 6 ) Some girls would give anything to be in my place. Anyway, I didn't want her to kick me off the team. ( 7 )
Kate: And what did she say?
Sarah: She said I could - Sunday's rugby game.
Kate: Well, don't ruin it, OK?
Sarah:( 8 ) My brother Bobby's on the team. He told me it was going to be a really important game and everybody should come. He ordered all his friends to be there! ( 9 )
Kate: What do you mean? I think he's a really good team captain. ( 10 )
    Sarah: Oh, yeah?

Choose the best sentence from these alternatives below to put into each bracket in the dialogue above.

    a. Of course I do!
    b. That was really dumb of me.
    c. Of course I won't!
    d. That's all.
    e. How's it going?
    f. But don't forget you were late for last week's football game.
    g. So I said I was sorry and I asked if I could have one more chance.
    h. She said if I didn't, I might find myself off the team!
    i. But I don't have to tell you - you're going to come anyway.
    j. What's the problem?

    Hi, everyone!
Well, this was actually part of the entrance exams for a high school in Japan. I think the answers would be...

    (1) e (2) j (3) h (4) f (5) b (6) a (7) g (8) c (9) i (10) d

I'm quite confident of the answers I chose from (1) to (8).
But...(9) and (10) The only alternatives left were...d. and i.
"(9) i (10) d " is the only combination that makes sense to me.
What are they talking about here in this part :

    ( 9 ) you're going to come anyway
Kate: What do you mean? I think he's a really good team captain. ( 10 ) That's all.
    Sarah: Oh, yeah?

Especially... the last "That's all." and "Oh, yeah?" are a mystery to me.

Is Sarah suggesting..that...Kate is..like...in love with Bobby.... and that's why she is saying "you're going to come anyway"? If so, they do make sense! Not a mystery any more! I think... I understand it now!

    Please give me your opinion.
    Thank you in advance.

I agree with your analysis tzfujimino.

Sarah is suggesting that Kate fancies Bobby. Upon mentioning the game she jokingly suggests "you'll be there anyway" meaning "of course you'd never miss Bobby's game!".

In response Kate tries to deny her affections by saying that she thinks he's a great sportsman and "that's all".
