    plural or singular?

This household certainly uses a lot of creams.

Is 'creams' correct? I was told me it is correct, but I wonder whether it is because two of my dictionaries state that 'cream' is uncountable.

    Many thanks.

Material nouns become countable when they denote:
    a) a sort, e.g. This shop sells different wines.
    b) a portion e.g. Bartender, two wines, please.

It is possible that in your sentence 'creams' indicate different sorts of cream.

I think that here we are talking about face/body creams as opposed to "cream" the comestible product of milk.
