Please tell me. I want to know the proper use of "got" and "have". Does one "Have" a red car, or do they "got" a new car. Presuming if it is already in their possession, not an action verb.
I beleive that it is "have", this is driving me crazy to hear people say "In my refriderator, I got eggs, I got butter, I got meat and I got milk."
(not a professional teacher) This usage is considered nonstandard but is very common in certain forms of English. It could be viewed as a contraction of "I have got", which would be viewed as standard.
