    doze off

Which one is correct doze off or fall asleep in the following sentence?

If I had gotten enough sleep last night, I would not have dozed off( or fallen asleep during the class ( or in class??)

Both. Mind you, doze off can also mean a light sleep, whereas fall asleep can also mean a heavy sleep.

Students usually, but not always, doze off in class.
