    Default name tag?

Please allow me to say a few words about something I've recently noticed.

One of the fellow members has apparently been denied access to this forum. There must have been a good reason for it.
Of course, I'm not at all opposed to the idea that those who do more harm than good should not be allowed to enter the forum. However, there's one thing that I'm not too happy about.
Under his/her name it says 'banned'. (What do you call that thing, which says 'Moderator' or 'Administrator' etc....A (name) tag, maybe?)
'Moderator'...fine, 'Editor'...fine, but.... 'banned'? Is it really necessary to put a name tag (or whatever it is called) that says 'banned' and show it to all of us? What for? Obviously 'banned' is not anything that we can be proud of. In my humble opinion, it's like...walking around the city with a name tag that says 'prisoner' on your chest. Absolute nonsense, isn't it?
I regard the member as one of my friends, actually, so I wouldn't like to see the 'tag'. If he/she were a 'prisoner', he/she would still be a precious friend of mine.

    What do you think?
I hope I've made myself clear.

I can see your point completely, but I am afraid that it's a feature of the software and I know of no way to change it. I will move this thread into support and see if the webmaster can do anything.

Hi. I've now removed the display of the Banned tag.

Bans (temporary or permanent) are there for a reason.

I was responding to the point raised above:

Is it really necessary to put a name tag (or whatever it is called) that says 'banned' and show it to all of us? What for?
I will need a very good reason to lift a ban. If you believe you can provide one, please contact me via my profile and we'll take it from there.
