    Default effort

    Hi there,

If someone goes to the gym and works out every day, making effort to lose weight but at night eats a lot of chocolate and pasta and everything one should not in order to lose weight, can I say it is a waste of effort?
what I want to say is that they are wasting the effort they made in order to lose weight...
    thank you

You can say that they are wasting their efforts or that they are working contrary to their goals.
