    confidence

Excuse me, can we say "I have confidence to become a good teacher in the future"? Is there the collocation "have confidence to do something" in English? My dictionaries haven't listed such a collocation in them, but is it because of incomplete coverage?
    Thanks.

In my opinion, I am confident that I will become a good teacher is the correct way to construct such a sentence.

I have confidence is usually followed by in.

I have confidence in my judgment.

I have confidence in your abilities.

I have confidence in the government's actions.

    I'm not a teacher.

Thanks, colloquium. Actually you don't need to be a teacher to teach me English. Being a native is enough already.
    Thanks again.

I'd say " I have the confidence to become a good teacher in the future".
It seems to imply "the necessary confidence".
