    I assume he means how to say the French phrase in Chinese language. He can't read Chinese or Chinese pinying (phonetics) so we have to annotate the Chinese words with English pronunciation.


    e.g. Hello = Ni how ( English pronouciation)

    e.g. I love you = Wo I Ni

    mín yǐ shí wèi tiān (Mandarin) - people consider eating as top priority for survival. "Tian"-heaven means top priority, the most important thing.

    'Tian' (heaven/heavenly) could mean top priority I agree, but surely not survival.

    OK, I was mistaken about the restaurant name. It's 'Sik Wai Sin', 'sin' as in 'first'先, before anything else'. Here it is:

    望hope 你you 有have 好good 的食慾appetite.
    That's the literal translation. Quite a mouthful alright and not something you would say in normal conversation.
