    snap decisons

how to use the word snap? Does it usually have negative collocations or does it depend on the context?

Here are two dialogues, which is more natural?

We had our doubts about buying a house but when we saw this one we made a snap decision and bought it right away.
You see? Snap decisions are sometimes the best.

Well, it was a snap decision, buying those shares.,..
I told you to think before investing so much money, but you never listen to me.

    Re: snap decisons

Yes, it depends on the outcome.

Is doing something without thinking it through carefully a good idea?

    I would say no.

But that doesn't mean that the results will always be bad.

    I am not a teacher.

Yes. In both cases the decision was taken instantaneously, one with a positive result, the other with a negative.
