Default in the best possible light

    Hello, Teachers.

What's the meaning of the phrase 'in the best possible light'?

For example, they want to present their policies in the best possible light.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, Teachers.

Now I know the meaning of that phrase is the same as 'in the best light possible', isn't it?

But in the grammar material I found, there was some dispute about this phrase: the best imaginable book. Some people considered it as correct, but some others thought that only 'the best book imaginable' was grammatical. I'd like to hear some native-speakers' opinion.

    Thanks in advance.

The answer to your first question is that it means "show it in a way that makes it look as good as possible (and if necessary, minimizes any flaws)."

The answer to your second question is that I would not use "imaginable" before the noun in that example.
