    Talking -dom, -hood, -ness, -ship...

    Hello everybody !

I was wondering about those kind of suffixes added to some adjectives to make a noun, and it's still confusing me when I have to add each one of them.

    Thank you

Some of these suffixes can also be added to some nouns to form other nouns.

You can google words ending in "dom", as well as the other 3 suffixes, and find lists of words, both common and uncommon, ending with those suffixes.

All what i know is that -hood is accorded to nouns which mark a relationship, part of life..., like (childhood, brotherhood,...)

So I guess this is just according to the name, there's no rules for that ??
