    Smile down for the count

    You've got to realize ... it's not every day you see Superman down for the count!

    What does "down for the count" mean?

    It's taken from boxing.

    When a boxer is knocked down and cannot get back up he is down for the count.

    In other words the person concerned is hurt and losing the fight.
