    Kind Of A Private Guy

    Dear friends and Teachers,

Speaker A: I don't see you around school much.
Speaker B: I'm kind of a private guy.
Speaker A: Why are you such a private guy?

    - Does "I'm kind of a private guy" mean "I don't like doing things with other people, I just like doing things alone", correct?

    Thanks a million!

    NamSteven

Re: Kind Of A Private Guy

    Aloha!
To my ear, a "private guy" is someone who doesn't like to reveal personal information to others not someone who enjoys his own company and doing things alone. If I were to express what you mean, I would say, "I'm kind of an introvert."

    Hope that helps.

In that case, it wouldn't really explain why he is not seen around.
