    Default Kind

    Why is this correct?
    1. What kind of fish is that? (subject=what and verb is 'kind' which is singular and there is no -s added to it. How come it is right?

What kind of fish is that?
    That is a tuna fish.

'What kind of' represents an adjective,
    'fish' is a noun,
    'is' is the verb, and
'that' is the subject complement: a predicate nominal/a noun.
