Post There's an honest man for you

    In this paragraph:

I would be with a bunch of Kennedy fans watching the debate and their
comment would be, "He's really slaughtering Nixon." Then we would all
go to another apartment, and the Nixon fans would say, "How do you
like the shellacking he gave Kennedy?" And then I realized that each
group loved their candidate so that a guy would have to be this blatant
ـــــــhe would have to look into the camera and say: "I am a thief, a crook,
do you hear me, I am the worst choice you could ever make for the
Presidency!" And even then his following would say, "Now there's an
honest man for you. It takes a big guy to admit that. There's the kind
of guy we need for President."

Would you kindly explain to me the meaning of the sentence
"Now there's an honest man for you."

Here's how soup described it to you when you posted yesterday:

Boss: Your supervisor has requested that you work 6 days this week. What are your thoughts?

Employee #1: It's a good idea. (Note, Employee #1 doesn't want to work the weekend because she has been working double time all week and needs to rest on the 6th day, but she doesn't say this to the boss.)

Employee #2: It's a good idea because we can finish the project a day earlier, but we've been working late all week and are pretty tired, so I think having the 6th day off would be best for everyone involved, even the company.

Boss: Now, there's an honest man for you; i.e., someone who tells you the truth, even if the information might offend someone.

I wasn't asking about the meaning of "honest man" , I was asking about the meaning of the expression i.e rephrase the expression with a suitable alternative or equivalent

    thank you for your patience

Semantic problem here. You asked for the meaning - which Soup provided.

If you want a paraphrase, that is something different. I am not at all sure that this sentence can be better or alternatively expressed. Here's a try:

And then I realized that each group loved their candidate so that a guy would have to be this blatantـــــــhe would have to look into the camera and say: "I am a thief, a crook, do you hear me, I am the worst choice you could ever make for the Presidency!" sorry for the misunderstanding , I was translating that phrase to Arabic and
I wanted to be sure that it means what I thought so I can express it appropriately in Arabic

    thank you again.
