    Hi

Can I say: He went to teach at primary school OR do I have to use "in"?

He left to teach at a primary school.

He is teaching at a primary school.

There's not much difference between using at and in in your sentences. Besides, when referring to the educational system, you can say primary school (without an article preceding this term).

She teaches History at/in (a) primary school.

Though if you say "He went" I would expect the sentence to read "He went to teach in a primary school".

This is what I wanted to know from the very beginning, i.e., if I use "went" I should use "in" not "at". Thank you for that! Thanks for all the replies!
