There are a couple of interesting articles with ideas on how you can use songs in the class in the ICAL wiki Main Page - ICALwiki

See Songs in the Classroom and Karaoke in the Classroom to start with.

    Happy singing!

I really enjoy teaching English songs. I think they are a good chance to improve reading, listening and speaking activities.
Depending on the age of your students, you can plan a different activity.
I am teaching K-5 , 1st and 2nd grade elementary, and I use songs everyday.

I think it is important to select the appropriate song, related with the topic you are teaching and also the structures and grammar points.

I plan my classes in three stages: The pre-listening activity ( that includes the vocabulary needed ), The listening activity itself ( completing the lyrics, fill in the blanks, etc), and the Post listening activity ( It could be a written production, performing some actions, etc)

I love Winnie`s songs ( From Winnie the Witch book), but there are lots of kid`s songs available to have fun!

I don't know if this is covered by the two sites mentioned already, but if you're covering subordinate clauses this would be an obvious song to use: "This is the house that Jack built...," by Mother Goose
