    never been excelled - anywhere

    Hello,

    I came across this sentence:
--- was part of the warp and woof of English life, and have never been excelled - anywhere.

    Does this mean:
--- was a part of life in UK, more than anywhere else.

--- is the name of a brand.

    Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your reply Casiopea.

So then, is it saying that:
"No other place has the brand been so influential to the people there than in UK"?

    or:
"no other brand has been so influential to English life than this one"?

    Thank you :)

Maybe a bit of both: In no other place has a brand been so influencial.
