    Default Methods and approaches

    Hi everbody,

    In teaching, what's the difference between methods and approaches?
    what I know is that the method includes a number of principles and approaches like the TPR & GMT, but the approach means techniques used in classrooms and aren't necessarily related to specific methods.

    Am I right?!!

    I think by methods & approaches , we meam all the ways and techniques the teacher uses to fullfil the target objectives

    The terms are, however, regularly used without such a clear distinction.

    Yes, in general no clear distiction to be made between the two terms, but I am studying ELTS at one of the higher colleges of technology in my country. Sometime, we are asked to distinguish between the two terms...

    As the other posters mentioned, we very often use these terms interchangeably, but if you need a distinction, this link provides a good formal definition of both that should make any differences clear:
