    you can ring my bell

    Good evening everyone
I heard a song on the radio
where the singer says "you can ring my bell".
Does this saying exist or is it just to adjust the lyrics?
I usually hear "it does/doesn't ring any bell",
    so I wonder...
    Thank you for your answer.
    Have a nice evening everyone

    WElcome to the forums.

To ring my bell is an expression I have heard; it is similar to "you can press my buttons" = what you do will suit me well.

Re: you can ring my bell

Actually, "press my buttons" can mean that someone is "getting on your nerves" or "getting under your skin," both of which mean that the person is irritating you. Similarly, "___ really knows how to push my buttons" usually means that "___" knows how to irritate you, with a slight implication that he/she is doing it on purpose.

"You can ring my bell" has a completely different connotation in Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell." In this song, "ring my bell" has a sexual connotation, and "bell" relates to a certain female genital part.

Re: you can ring my bell

    Hallo everybody.
Can a man say "she rings my bell" to intend I'm attracted to this woman and sound appropriate?
