    Can we say like this?

Can we say that " The children are in their plastic period of life. You can mould them in any shape you want." ? Is it a complete sentence, free from all kinds of mistakes? I am finding it bit wierd. May be I m wrong..Please, give your comments.

Re: Can we say like this?

    Hi Roselin

As a Brit, but not a teacher, I would have 2 comments:

    1. I believe that you can join the 2 sentences by converting the full stop in the middle to a colon, as they are 2 related concepts, as in ".... life: you .....".
    2. I would have said: ".... into any shape .....".

    Hope this helps
    Regards
    NT

PS I, myself, hardly ever use the colon and would normally leave it as 2 sentences.

    It's two complete sentences.
    Small correction:
"The children are in the plastic period of
their life. You can mould them into any shape you want."
I would use a dash here if I decided on one sentence:
"The children are in the plastic period of their life - you can mould them into any shape you want."

    Hi Raymott

Yes, a dash works for me also.

    Best regards
