    continuous/simple

    Hi

    1. I always try to do my work as well as possible

    2. I'm always trying to do my work as well as possible

Someone has told me that the second sentence sounds negative and that is why the first one is better. Why does the second one sound negative?

    Thank you

    Re: continuous/simple

Because it sounds as though you are uncertain about what you are doing. The other is far more assertive and convinced.
